Richard “Rick” Kyzer, born October 2, 1958, passed away July 2, 2023. He will forever be remembered as a man with a strong mind, selfless and compassionate soul, and a gentle giant with a spitfire personality. He is survived by a number of loving family members including his mother, Pat "Memaw" Kyzer; spouse, Patricia Courtenay‐Kyzer; siblings, Neil (Gina), Danny (Tiffany), and Julie. He leaves behind daughters, Carla (Scott), Caroline (Jason), Katelyn (Kyle), stepdaughter, Jenn; and two step-sons, Jason and Joey. He is also survived by loving uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandparents and Father, Jack Kyzer. His memory will continue to be cherished by his grandsons, Zachary, Trenton, Fisher, and Lukah; as well as his granddaughters, Emily, Kendall, and Copeland. A man of simple pleasures, Rick enjoyed a plate of Zesto’s chicken, ice‐cold glasses of water, watching NASCAR, and supporting his favorite team, the Gamecocks. He loved animals, and will be greatly missed by his dog, Cooper. As an avid fisherman, he cherished those moments of relaxation, and connection with nature and God. He was always outside and never turned down an opportunity to search for arrowheads. His favorite color was blue, a hue that reflected his calm presence. He loved God and knew the importance of helping those in need, either through plumbing work, working in the food bank, or feeding the homeless community. He loved his church and church family of Calvary Chapel of Leesville. His presence on earth was a gift to those fortunate to have known him. He will be greatly missed. The Celebration of Life service for Rick Kyzer will be held Friday, July 7, 2023, at 3:00 pm at Calvary Chapel of Leesville, 3334 Columbia Hwy., Leesville, SC 29070. “Jesus told her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never die.’” John 11:25‐26 (NLT). “He will forever wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorry or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” Revelation 21:4 (NLT)
