Ruth Ellen

Ruth Ellen, 82, of West Columbia, SC passed away Friday, October 13, 2023. She was born and raised in Wheeling, West Virginia. Ruth was preceded in death by her father, David S. Goldberg; her mother, Freida Goldinger Goldberg; and her sister, Florence Lippman. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dr. Louis P. Ellen; her two sons, Gregory D. Ellen of Columbus, Ohio, and Matthew L. Ellen of Las Vegas, NV; her four grandchildren, David, Carolyn, Micah, and Timothy; as well as 6 great-grandchildren. Ruth was a Graduate of Ohio University and worked in communications, public relations, and fundraising for a number of Non-Profit Organizations. She loved to travel, entertain, and play bridge. She was an avid fan of the Lady Gamecocks Basketball program. However, her greatest passion was for clothing, and especially shoes. Her appearance and outgoing personality would light up any room. She will be sorely missed!
