Lori Leaphart – A Celebration of Life service for Lori Leaphart, 64, of Gaston, will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Green Hill Baptist Church, 1800 Augusta Road, West Columbia, SC. Pastor Jeff Powell will officiate. Burial in Woodridge Memorial Park will follow the service. The family will greet friends from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM prior to the service at Green Hill Baptist Church. Lori Leaphart passed away on January 21, 2024. Born in Bridgewater NJ, she was a daughter of the late William Charles Binger and Anna Mae Macky. Lori was a long-time member of Green Hill Baptist Church, where she loved to work with the children as a GA Leader and Acteens. She enjoyed baking, especially for her family’s children, who looked forward to her delicious cakes for birthdays. She also enjoyed gardening, especially her great lily collection, and was a member of the Lexington County Herb Bunch. She enjoyed bird watching and fishing with her family. Her greatest love was her family, including all. Her heart was always reaching out to others due to her love for her Savior. Lori worked for many years at Owens Steel Company, now known as CMC Commercial Metals. Lori is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, David K. Leaphart; sons, Jeffrey Leaphart (Sabrina) of West Columbia; Bryan Leaphart of West Columbia; grandchildren, Connilee Yonge, Mary Leaphart, Autumn Lily Leaphart, Ella Leaphart; great-grandchildren, Weston and Carson Yonge; sister, Lillian Heston (Jim) of Leesville, sister-in-law, Cynthia Dickey; brother-in-law, Chris Leaphart (Cheryl). Lori is also survived by a large and loving extended family, and her loving dog, Cheyenne. In addition to her parents, Lori was predeceased by her aunt, Kate Binger; and brothers-in-law, Tommy Leaphart and Tommy Dickey. The family would like to thank the staff at Lexington Medical Center ICU unit, and friend and doctor, Benjamin Levinson, for his attentive care. Memorials may be made to Green Hill Baptist Church for Missions, 1800 Augusta Road, West Columbia, SC, 29169.
