Fely Whimberly
August 6th, 1930 - May 31st, 2024
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Fely Whimberly, who left us on May 31, 2024, at the age of 93, in Boise, Idaho. Born on August 6, 1930, in Lanao, Philippines, Fely's life was marked by her kindness, dedication, and unwavering commitment to her family and community. Fely was the beloved daughter of John Whimberly and Macaria Samzos. Her early life in Lanao was enriched by her education, culminating in her bachelor's degree, a significant achievement that paved the way for her future endeavors. She dedicated many years to shaping young minds as a school teacher at Bethany Missionary Home in Talakag, Bukidnon, an experience that highlighted her kind and considerate nature. Fely emigrated to the United States, where she took on roles as a housekeeper and property manager—a testament to her versatility and strong work ethic. Despite the challenges of adjusting to a new country, Fely's dedication to her family remained unwavering. She fostered strong connections and optimized her family interactions across continents, ensuring her loved ones in both the U.S. and the Philippines were always close to her heart. Fely’s life was also marked by personal loss. She was predeceased by her first husband, Esperidiou Abello, who succumbed to liver cancer, and her son Charley, who tragically died young in a motorcycle accident. Despite these profound losses, Fely demonstrated remarkable resilience and found love once more, marrying Metchor Imperio. She is survived by her children Betty, Joyce, Samuel, Arthur, Richard, and Roy, who will forever cherish the memories of their mother. Fely's legacy extends to her 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Fely's later years were characterized by a vibrant lifestyle, enriched by travels to Europe and Mexico. In retirement, she continued to prioritize her family, ensuring that her legacy of love and kindness would live on in the hearts of her descendants. In her passing, we remember Fely not only for her accomplishments and the roles she fulfilled but also for her gentle, considerate spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends, and the countless individuals whose lives she impacted. The family encourages those who wish to express their condolences to do so through written messages, allowing them to cherish the memories and support during this time of grief.
