Above all else, Tracy was a loved and loving husband, father, son, brother and friend to so many people. He grew up in Homer NY and was the middle son of Doug and Judy Wilcox. He has an older brother Todd and a younger brother Tom. Tracy graduated at the top of his class from Homer High School. After high school, he was accepted in to the prestigious Merchant Marine Academy. While there, he created lifelong friendships that he treasured immensely. After graduating from King's Point, he spent several years honorably serving our country and travelling the world while working on large cargo ships. It was during this time he learned to work on large industrial sized boilers which helped launch his desire to pursue commercial HVAC. He spent some time working in Pennsylvania but eventually decided to take a huge risk and start up his own company in Denver, Colorado, Taft Engineering. Shortly after arriving in Colorado, he met the love of his life Kim Johnston. They have been married for 16 years and have two amazing children, Paige and Parker. Tracy’s greatest joy was to support and cheer on his children in all their endeavors. He was so proud of all they did. He loved to be at their school events or on the sidelines cheering for Paige while she played soccer or for Parker while he played lacrosse. Through his children and their activities, he came to meet amazing families and people that became lifelong friends and touched his life. Tracy was happiest spending time with his family and those he loved. There was nothing more important to him. On November 3rd, he passed away surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He fought with a will, strength and desire that will never be forgotten by all those who knew and loved him. He NEVER gave up. Tracy is survived by his wife Kim and children Paige and Parker. He also leaves behind his parents Doug and Judy Wilcox, brothers Todd (JoAnn) and Tom (Meg) all of Harrisburg, NC, his in-laws, Tom & Barb Johnston, brother in laws Troy of Denver, CO, Lionel (Amanda) of Eagle Grove, IA and several nieces and nephews. Tracy was loved by so many. As we grieve and remember the man we all loved, may we take a lesson from losing Tracy. Let us step forward and be present in our lives to love big, hug more, laugh hard and make memories. This is what he would want for us all. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Smoky Hill United Methodist Church, 19491 E. Smoky Hill Road in Centennial. A Reception will follow the service at the Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Tracy's memory be made to the American Cancer Society, http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?pg=fund&fr_id=9910&pxfid=2284811 Service Information
