Clara Belle Warren

Clara Belle Warren, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2015 after a short illness. Two weeks before her death, she had celebrated her 94th birthday and in her words, "had the best birthday ever." She was a resident of Parker, Colorado since 2006. Prior to that, she had lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico for over 50 years. Clara was born in Amoret, Missouri in 1921; was one of nine children; lived through the Depression, taught in a one-room schoolhouse, met her husband, O.O. Warren, in Billings, Montana. They were married in Billings in 1948. They moved to Santa Fe in 1956. Clara taught 5th grade for 19 years. Clara worked cross-word puzzles every day, followed all basketball teams both college and professional; and since moving to Colorado always followed the Rockies and the Broncos. She quilted, crocheted and was a fan of 'Jeopardy' and 'Wheel of Fortune'. Her pecan pie was always a favorite with all the family. She is survived by her two daughters: Sara Gutknecht (Steve) of Parker, Colorado and Lu McComb (Paul) of Bakersfield, California. She has one surviving sister, Louise, age 91, who lives in Katy, Texas. Clara had six grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Clara was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A celebration of Clara's life will be scheduled in the next 2-3 months.
