Rev. Mr. Robert A. Huber Born September 12, 1926 Deceased October 15, 2009 Bob Huber grew up in Marion, Ohio. He was the son of Edward T. Huber and Mary Lynn Huber. He had 5 brothers and one sister. They are Frank (deceased), John, Father William (deceased), Brother Richard C.S.C., Peter and Mary Anne. During WW II he served in the Navy in the Pacific Theatre. After being honorably discharged he went to Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration. Upon graduation he worked for General Mills. He then went to work for the Cincinnati Police Department for ten years. His final career move was to the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas where he worked as a probation officer for twenty years. It was during this time that he went back to Xavier University and earned his Masters Degree in Corrections. He was a life long member of the Knights of Columbus which is an organization that does charitable works. Bob served in the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus as a Past Faithful Navigator, Archbishop Leibold Assembly. Bob was very involved with Guardian Angels and St. Xavier Catholic Churches in Cincinnati, Ohio. This led him to consider a vocation as a Deacon in the Catholic Church upon retirement. Bob was ordained a Deacon on June 20, 1987 at St. Peter in Chains Cathedral in Cincinnati, Ohio. His ministry over the years consisted of Jail Chaplaincy, Hospital Pastoral Care, Marriage Preparation, Spiritual Reflections, Parish Pastoral Care and Nursing Home Visitations. While at Xavier University he met the love of his life, Mary Joan Casey. After her graduation for the College of Mount Saint Joseph they were married on August 30, 1952. Bob and Mary Joan have 3 children, Michele, Mary Lynn and Casey. Bob loved his children and was very proud of them. He was a wonderful father and loving husband. In addition to his wife and children he leaves behind 6 grandchildren. They are Michael, Matthew, Mackenzie, Madison Huber and Michael and Kelsey Schwander. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 11:00AM. It will be held at Ave Maria Catholic Church in Parker, CO. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Xavier University Scholarship fund or Catholic Charities of Colorado Springs. Service Information
