All-States Cremation - Colorado Springs
Lucille A. Bollinger
April 29th, 1930 - August 4th, 2023
Lucille Bollinger of Littleton, Co died peacefully in her sleep on Aug 5. She was 93 years old. Lucille Ann Bollinger was born on April 29,1930 to Louise (Cejka) Phisterer in the Yorkville neighborhood of Manhattan. Growing up she lived for a time in Astoria, Queens before moving to Mount Loretto Orphanage on Staten Island in the early forties. While there, she attended Tottenville High School. After graduation she moved back to Manhattan where she lived in The Webster Apartments and took a job with Capitol Records. In 1956 she married Jay Guy Bollinger of Philadelphia. They lived for a time in Jackson Heights, Queens where the first of their two children, Linda and Steve, were born. In 1959, she and Jay, with children in tow, moved to Denver, Colorado. Two more children, Ann and Grace, were born soon after. Although Lucille was to spend most of her life in Colorado, and considered it her home, she was always a New Yorker at heart. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, she held a lifelong love of learning. In her forties she went back to school and earned a bachelor’s and then a master’s degree from the University of Colorado at Denver. She continued to take classes on a variety of subjects throughout her life. She also loved reading and liked nothing better than being able to curl up with a good book, her cat Nuit, and spend the day reading. Other interests included cooking and gardening. Over the year she prepared many elaborate meals for holidays and other special occasions. Lucille is survived by her four children, Linda Clemons, Stephen Bollinger and his wife Neide, Ann MacBlaine, and Grace Bollinger. In addition, she is survived by her nephew Eirc Shyer and his wife, Candy, and a niece Janet Shyer Fried. A celebration of life will be held on September 9, at 10:30 am. The event will be at Lafayette Towers West, 1085 N Lafayette St.
