Steve Johnston, 63, died Sunday, December 29, 2019, following nine years of congestive heart failure. Steve was born on January 23, 1956, in Philadelphia, Mississippi. His homes included Clinton, Mississippi; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Austin, Texas; and Denver, Colorado. Steve had a passion for music. He loved attending concerts, and he collected an impressive library of eclectic musical recordings. He could name any tune, along with a remarkable array of facts about the musicians, musical instruments, recording label, and musical influences. He loved outdoor activities, including hiking, camping, and snorkeling. He especially loved visiting lakes, rivers, and oceans. He read several books per week. He was a movie buff and a fantastic cook. Steve was a strong, direct man who spoke his mind and stood up for others. He was a loyal caregiver. He is and will continue to be, deeply missed.
