William F. Noonan
March 31st, 1940 - January 18th, 2021
William “Bill” F. Noonan, 80, passed away on January 18, 2021 surrounded by family and friends. Bill was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and a good friend to many. Bill was born in Iowa City, IA on March 31, 1940 and grew up in Davenport, Iowa. He attended Saint Ambrose High school where he was an All-State scholar athlete. Bill accepted a scholarship to play basketball at the University of Notre Dame, was a member of the Monogram Club, and graduated with a degree in Economics in 1961. He married his first wife in 1963 with whom he had four children. They moved from Davenport, IA in 1968 to Anaheim, CA where he worked in the car business. Bill enjoyed attending Angels and Lakers games whenever possible. As a family, going to the beach was a favorite pastime. In 1975, Bill and his family settled in CO where he made his home. In 1992, Bill married the love of his life Celia Jo (CJ). They loved dancing, traveling, and socializing with friends. Bill retired from Rickenbaugh Cadillac in 2008 with over 50 years in the automobile industry. Bill enjoyed fishing, golfing, and was an avid sports fan. He loved watching Notre Dame and all the Denver sports teams. His favorite places included Notre Dame, the California coast, Breckenridge, CO and Mexico. Bill was a true Irishman and never missed a St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Laverne Noonan and his younger brother, Richard. He is survived by his wife, CJ of Centennial, CO, his brother Karl (Grace) Noonan of Stanley, NC and his sister Nancy Noonan of Atlanta, GA. Bill is also survived by his children Kathryn (David) Forgach of Tucson, AZ, Bridget (Todd) Bandy of Lenexa, KS, Jeffrey (Tamara) Noonan of Madison, CT, Jennifer Kelly of Fort Collins, CO; 10 grandchildren, Drew, Emily, Erin, Nick, Allie, Libbie, Garrett, Catie, Connor and Megan as well as 3 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, we are requesting that you spend meaningful time with family and friends and make a toast to Bill. A celebration of life will be held at Toley’s on the Creek (The Goal Line) at a later date.
