All-States Cremation - Centennial
January Devonn Wallace
December 16th, 1978 - November 1st, 2021
January Devonn Wallace, at the age of 42 years, a resident of Denver Colorado left us on Monday, November 1, 2021. January is survived by his Mother Carolyn Foster and two lovely children: a son Diontaye January Wallace and a daughter Chanelle Lauren Wallace. A host of loving aunts, uncles as well as many cousins in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Dallas, Texas. A host of dear friends in Denver, Colorado. January was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on December 16th, 1978 to parents Carolyn Foster and Christopher Jones Wallace. In 1979 he was baptized at St. John African Methodist Episcopal Church in Tulsa. He moved to Denver with his Mother in 1985 so the majority of his life was in Colorado. He then attended Sabin Elementary school, then Carmody Junior High School. He attended Bear Creek High School where he played on the football team. He left after one year to join Kennedy High School where he also played on the football team as well as the basketball team. He was a very comical and fun-loving teammate and classmate. One of Kennedy High Schools most popular students, and where he met Jackie Rugg the mother of his two children. He graduated in 1997 from Kennedy High School. After high school he went to the University of Denver and Westwood College for musical training. His love of music began at the age of two and continued throughout his life. He was a talented artist, writer, composer and singer. He was well-known in the musicians’ circle in Colorado and sought after for his productions. January was a devoted father and son and he will be deeply missed by family, friends and all who knew him. He was a true heart loving person. “We little knew the day that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, In death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you But you didn’t go alone. For part of us went with you The day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories. Your love is still our guide, And though we cannot see you You are always at our side. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one the chain will link again.” --By Ron Tranmer
