Linda Yee Ewing was born in Tucson, Arizona on September 17, 1964, as Linda Carol Yee to George and Alice Yee. She graduated from Santa Cruz Valley Union High School in Eloy, Arizona in 1982 followed by attainment of her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology at the University of Arizona in 1986. After working several years as a Medical Technologist, Linda aimed for her next aspiration, a career in Pharmacy. In 1993, she received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from her alma mater, University of Arizona, followed by completion of her pharmacy practice residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. During the course of her career as a pharmacist, she worked at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center, Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital, and Swedish Medical Center, all located in the Denver area. In April 2000 she married Charles Ewing in Phoenix, Arizona. She supported her husband in growing his business, Appliance Factory Outlet. Their marriage produced her two greatest accomplishments, daughters Alexis and Portia Ewing. A travel enthusiast, Linda loved the outdoors and had the opportunity to experience Africa, Europe, and New Zealand. Her radiant smile was often captured in photographs of her adventurous excursions with her beloved Alexis and Portia. They enjoyed going to plays and appreciated the fine arts. Linda treasured her abundant friendships near and far, and she loved the conversations, fine wine, and girls’ nights out – which will be sorely missed by all. Constantly striving for excellence, Linda set a shining example for her daughters through her volunteer efforts at the Montessori School of Denver. She was Alexis and Portia’s biggest cheerleader in their favorite endeavors of dance and figure skating. Linda valiantly fought a 9 year battle with cancer, which finally took her life on January 5th, 2018. However, she was grateful to be able to contribute back to cancer research through her participation in clinical trials. Her daughters were at her side when she passed away at home. Linda is survived by her loving daughters Alexis and Portia Ewing, by her brothers, George (Mandy) Yee of Tucson, Arizona, David Yee of Fort Collins, Colorado, Daniel (Jane) Yee of Loveland, Colorado, Delbert (Carolyn) Yee of Tempe, Arizona, by her nephews Benjamin, William, Kahlil, Brian, and Andrew, by extended family in the Yee and Ewing families, friends, neighbors, and colleagues. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Alice Yee, and nephew, Kenneth Yee. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 60 East 56th Street, 8th Floor, New York, NY 10022. St. Mary’s Academy Community Outreach program, 4545 S. University Blvd, Englewood, Colorado. Or to the charity of your choice. Linda’s family would like to thank all those who lovingly supported Linda during her lengthy illness. The meals, gift cards, help in keeping her girls’ activities on-track, flexibility at work, time spent with her, and so many other things will not be forgotten.
