After a seven month battle with cancer, John Daniel Fehrer passed away on March 2, 2017 in Westminster, CO at the age of 71. He leaves behind his wife, Carma Fehrer, his son and daughter-in-law James and Laura Fehrer, his daughter Stephanie Fehrer, and step-daughters; Ann Marie Romero, Dawn Valenzuela son-in-law Mike Valenzuela and Chenoa Mora. His 12 grandchildren; Benjamin Fehrer, Jonathon Fehrer, Nicholas Lamas, Samuel Lamas, Marcus Romero, Victoria Herrera, Gabriel Romero, Timothy Garcia, Hope Garcia, Michael Garcia, Jason Garcia and Jayden Mora and 5 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law Eileen and John Black, and brother Jay Dee Fehrer; and many nephews and nieces. John was born on November 30, 1945 in Manchester, England, to father Daniel G Fehrer and mother Margaret Fehrer, who predeceased him. His father was a US solider during World War II and met Margaret in England where they were married. In early 1946 his parents came to United States where they raised their family in Colorado. He grew up in a hardworking loving family with his parents, sister and brother. John graduated from Adams City high school in 1964. He was drafted into the United States Army on November 1, 1965. After serving the Army he worked in the optical profession and owned his own business for several years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. John retired at the age of 63 and continued to enjoy fishing and hunting and spending time with his family. When diagnosed with brain cancer in July 2016, he remained strong and willing to fight his illness. He was able to enjoy his last hunting trip with his family this past November. He remained a brave, iron-willed man, even throughout his final months. The family would like to thank Hospice of Covenant Care for their excellent work and loving care as well as All-States Cremation, for making the arrangements. A special thank you to Fort Logan National Cemetery for all you do for Veterans and their families! In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a charity of your choice in John’s honor.
