Donald Arthur Vinkemulder
July 12th, 1926 - February 8th, 2016
Donald Arthur Vinkemulder, 89, of Windsor passed away at his home at Good Samaritan at Water Valley. He was born July 12, 1926 in Rudyard, MI to Arthur and Frances (DeWitt) Vinkemulder. Don graduated from Rudyard High School, Michigan State University, Western Michigan University and Trinity College. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and then married Rosemary Ann Bowald on June 24, 1962 in Eureka, Illinois. He worked as the Business Manager with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship in Michigan and then as a Librarian with Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, Michigan. He also volunteered as a chaplain with the Calhoun County Jail. They relocated to Windsor to be closer to family. Don enjoyed gardening, reading, Bible study and spreading the good news of Jesus. Survivors include his wife, Rosemary of their home in Windsor; children, Beth (Robert) Hurley of Fort Collins, CO, Bruce (Ana) Vinkemulder of Loveland, CO and Brian (Mia) Vinkemulder of Seattle, WA; seven grandchildren, Ryan Hurley, Jose, Benjamin, Andre, Mateus, Finley and Hanna Vinkemulder as well as two sisters, Faye Postma and Yvonne Vinkemulder. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Helen Brood and Muriel McLeod. Graveside inurnment service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 11 at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver. Services will follow at 1:30 pm on March 11 at the Good Samaritan Chapel at Water Valley, 805 Compassion Drive, Windsor, CO 80550. Memorial gifts may be made to Far East Broadcasting Company or Wycliffe Bible Translators in care of Adamson Funeral Home, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.
