Burel Warrington October 2, 1928 - January 4, 2007 Age: 78 Residence: Greeley, CO Tribute: Burel Monroe Warrington was born on the Skelton Farm in Joplin, MO to Franklin Monroe and Lillie Rozella (Rodney) Warrington. Mr. Warrington grew up in Joplin, MO and attended the Forest Mill School graduating from eigth grade in 1942. His family moved to Salina, KS at the age of 13 and returned to Joplin a few years later in 1945. The family moved to California where they lived for one year. Mr. Warrington moved to Leadville, CO in 1947 where he began working as a mechanic, which became his life’s work. Mr. Warrington also lived in Glenwood Springs, CO and Carbondale, CO. For many years, while in Carbondale, he worked for Berry’s Garage. He met Betty Boyd in Carbondale and they were married on December 24, 1950 in Glenwood Springs, CO. They divorced in 2002. In 1963, the family moved to Grand Junction, CO where he worked for area car dealerships. In 1965, he moved to Durango, CO, working many years for La Plata Motors and later for Carroll Motors. Mr. Warrington retired in1990 and enjoyed traveling in a twenty two foot motor home alternating between Colorado, Washington and Texas. He served as campground host for several years at the Lake Silvia and Schafer State Parks near Montesano, WA. In 1999, they moved to Fort Lupton, CO and in 2002 moved to Greeley. He lived the last four and half years of his life with his son. Mr. Warrington enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Other interests included woodworking and cabinet making. He also worked on a couple occasions as a tree cutter for a logging operation. Mr. Warrington died Thursday at North Colorado Medical Center �" Hospice and Palliative Care Unit. Survivors: Son, Michael Warrington and wife Harriett of Greeley; daughters, Jerry W. Warrington of Grand Junction and Terry L. Haney and husband Jack "Robbie” of Montesano, WA; five grandchildren, David Haviland of Aberdeen, WA, Jerrod Warrington of Los Angeles, CA, Sandra Chambers-Gordon of Aberdeen, WA, Kari Lee Starbuck of Greeley, and Kelli Jessop of Clifton, CO. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: Parents; two brothers; three sisters. Note: Cremation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greeley Weld Humane Society in care of Adamson Memorial Chapels 2000 47th Ave. Greeley, CO 80634.
