Carrie Joanne Martinez
September 12th, 1953 - April 12th, 2016
Carrie Joanne Martinez, 62, of Greeley passed away Tuesday, April 12 at her home in Greeley. She was born September 12, 1953 in Longmont to Fred L. and Beatrice (Roybal) Valdez. She married Juan Jose Martinez on June 5, 1971 in Brighton, Colorado. Joanne loved her family unconditionally. She always made sure they had what was needed and sometimes what wasn’t needed too. She was also protective of her family and they loved her enchiladas. When she was younger, Joanne loved to dance and she could be found on a dance floor with anyone who asked her to dance. She enjoyed shopping at garage sales and second hand stores for herself and others. Joanne also loved flowers, whether buying fresh cut flowers for a vase or waiting until she could plant them outside. Her favorite saying "You can’t plant until after Mother’s Day”. She loved crafting and beading to make bracelets. Survivors include her husband, Juan; daughters, Pauline (Quillo) Jaramillo and Barbara (Charles) Castaldo, Jr.; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Christina, Mundo; great-grandchildren, Ezekiel, Alverto III, Jose and a great-granddaughter on the way as well as 10 brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Friday, April 15 at the Adamson Chapel followed by service at 11 a.m. Interment at Linn Grove Cemetery. Friends may leave condolences at adamsonchapels.com.
