Cecil Willard Rummel
January 15th, 1935 - December 9th, 2008
Cecil Rummel January 15, 1935 �" December 9, 2008 Age: 73 Residence: Greeley, Colorado Tribute: Cecil Willard Rummel was born at home in Atwood, Kansas. The twelveth of thirteen children, to Henry C. and Vivian R. (McKnight) Rummel. He grew up in Atwood and graduated from Atwood High School, all during school he worked for farmers and developed a love for animals breaking horses for friends and shodding his own. On October 5, 1956 Mr. Rummel married Elberta (Bertie) Keenan in Greeley. He worked in construction before moving to Greeley where worked as a meat cutter and supervisor. He also was employed by Clover Leaf Kennel Club, before poor health forced his early retirement. Mr. Rummel was never one to complain about his deteriorating health and for years his determination kept him going, after fighting a courageous battle he took hold of God’s hand and let go. He enjoyed time with family and was a very loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He also enjoyed wood work, gardening, (starting his own plants), reading and working on his family tree. Mr. Rummel was a member of RSVP (Retired Senior Voluntary Program). Mr. Rummel died Tuesday December 9, 2008 at the Hospice and Palliative Care Unit at North Colorado Medical Center. Survivors: His Wife Bertie Rummel of Greeley, sons Craig Rummel and wife Brenda of Craig, Carl Rummel of Greeley, grandchildren: Brittany of Golden, Luke of Craig, and Hunter also of Craig; brother, Jesse Rummel of Arkansas, Sisters Inez Johnson and Audrey Gannon both of Kansas, Eunice Linderer of Colorado, and numerous nieces and nephews. Special friends Ekkehard Barsch and Orville Napton Preceded in death by: His parents, brothers: Gus, Arlie, Stanley, Victor, Percy, and Wesley, sisters: Evelyn and Helen. Service: 1:00 p.m. Saturday December 13, 2008 at the Adamson Chapel 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, Colorado. Note: In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Cecil Rummel Memorial Fund c/o Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, Colorado 80634.
