Viola A. Martinez

Viola Alice (Jiron) Martinez, 87, of Ault, CO passed away May 21, 2016 in Greeley, CO. She was born June 28, 1928 in Questa, NM to Adolfo Jiron and Eufelia (Gonzalez) Jiron. Viola Jiron married Delfinio Martinez March 3, 1946. Delfinio passed on October 14, 1998. They lived there entire married life in Ault. Viola enjoyed crocheting, quilting, gardening, canning fruits/vegetables, and making jelly. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and gambling. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Altar Society and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the VFW in Ault, and past member of the Rodarte Senior Center in Greeley. She is survived by four children, Daniel (Grace) Martinez of Ault, Elizabeth (Jerry) Miller of Fredericksburg, VA, Margaret (Henry) Garcia of Greeley, Delfinio (Wanda) Martinez of Ault; five grandchildren, Daniel Martinez, Robert Lanham, Rick Garcia, Curtis and Andrew Martinez; ten great grandchildren, Richard and Nathan Martinez, Breanna May, Nathan and Madison Lanham, Ciara and Alyssa Garcia, Abby, Hallie and Kaylie Martinez; two great-great grandchildren, Nathan and Nehemiah; her sisters, Ruth Solano and Madeline Romero; and her brothers, Pat and Adolph Jiron. She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her brother, Amos Jiron. Visitation 5-7p.m. Thursday May 26, 2016 followed by Recitation of the Rosary at 7p.m. both at Adamson Chapel.
