Melvin Schanwolf March 2, 1935 �" December 17, 2008 Age: 73 Residence: Evans, Colorado Tribute: Melvin Dean Schanwolf was born in Windsor, CO to Jake and Amelia (Helzer) Schanwolf. His parents immigrated from Russia and he was the first son of his family to be born in the United States from this generation. He attended school in Eaton, CO where he was a member of FFA. On May 24, 1953 he married Ruby Andrews at St. Paul’s Congregational Church in Greeley, CO. Mr. Schanwolf worked for 42 years at Meadow Gold Dairy in Greeley retiring in 1996 as Plant Manager. He enjoyed fishing and racing motorcycles. He loved his 1954 Harley Pan Head. His passion was his grandchildren. Mr. Schanwolf died Wednesday December 17, 2008 at his residence with his family at his side. Survivors: His wife, Ruby Schanwolf of Evans; sons, Martin Schanwolf, Tim Schanwolf and wife Shawna all of Evans; daughter, Laura Martin of Greeley; grandchildren, CJ Schanwolf of Evans, Annie Schanwolf of Greeley, Brandon Martin and Brady Martin of Ft. Collins, CO, Matthew Schanwolf of Evans; a brother, Gene Schanwolf and wife Janet of Thornton, CO and a sister, Shirley Knaus of Reno, NV. Preceded in death by: His parents, a sister, Jetta Weitzel. Visitation: 2:00 �" 5:00 p.m. Saturday at Adamson Chapel, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley. Service: 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2008 at Adamson Chapel. Interment: Evans Cemetery. Note: Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Health Care, Evans Fire Department or Bonell Star Care c/o Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, Colorado 80634.
