Joyce Ann Moline passed away at age 80 on Monday, May 30, 2016 at Fair Acres Manor in Greeley, CO. Joyce was born on April 6, 1936 in Carrington, ND, the first of four girls born to Ruth and William Frey. Shortly after her birth, her family moved to Ironton, MN. At Crosby-Ironton High School, Joyce was very musically talented and participated in Band, Choir, Flute Quartette, Student Council, and was Class Secretary and Vice President. She played the flute in the high school band (and the bells when the band played at football and basketball games and when they marched in parades). She was an extremely talented piano player. Often during family gatherings Joyce and her youngest sister Sandy would play for hours entertaining the entire family. She graduated from Crosby Ironton High School in 1954 and then completed her undergraduate degree from St. Cloud State University (St. Cloud, MN) in 1958. Joyce was also a voracious reader. When she was in high school she worked at the Ironton Public Library and that piqued her interest in books and in reading. Although her degree was in Elementary Education and she taught in the elementary grades, her real love was children’s books. Joyce moved to Denver, Colorado and earned her master’s degree in Library Science from Denver University. She was a school librarian in the Denver, Boulder, Loveland and Sterling, Colorado public elementary schools for many years. She met her husband, John Moline, in Denver and they married on September 29, 1962 in Crosby, MN. Over the past 53 years they have made their home in Boulder, Loveland and Greeley, CO. Joyce was a very quiet, caring, nurturing person who was a dedicated daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She had such a kind, giving spirit. Friends have described her as kind hearted, giving and so very generous. In her free time, Joyce loved to read and to also make crafts, Christmas ornaments and needlework. Many of her friends and family still display these cross stich gifts and Christmas ornaments in their home today. Joyce was also a wonderful, dedicated mother to her two children Bob and Peg. She taught her children to love and be loved; to be responsible, kind, caring and to live a life of integrity. Her children couldn’t have asked for a more supportive, loving, mom. Joyce and her husband John, enjoyed many memorable camping trips in their little "Scamp” trailer throughout the United States. Their yearly trips to Minnesota to re-unite with family were special to Joyce. They enjoyed many years of biking and camping in Lanesboro, Minnesota, especially in the fall when the leaves were so beautiful. Joyce is survived by her husband, John; children, Bob (Karen) of Greeley, CO and Peg (Brad) of Eau Claire, WI; grandchildren, Andrew, Ryan, Kate and Bryn; sisters, Karen Gronvold of Chaska, MN, Diane (John) Newstrom of Lakeland, FL, Sandy (Bill) Seibert of Minnetonka, MN and wonderful friends in Colorado and Minnesota. Joyce will be dearly missed and will live on in our hearts now and forever. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Ruth and William Frey. A celebration of Joyce’s life will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 13, 2016 at Adamson Chapel, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634. The family would like to thank the staff at Grace Pointe and Fair Acres Manor in Greeley for their compassionate care over the last three months of Joyce’s life. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the "Alzheimer’s Association" in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
