Alice Forrest Meyer

Alice Meyer January 23, 1916 �" January 11, 2009 Age: 92 Residence: Brighton, Colorado (formerly of Greeley) Tribute: Alice Forrest Meyer was born in Baxter County, Arkansas to Donald S. and Amy (Butler) Crownover. She moved to Colorado in 1925 and attended schools in Fort Lupton and Gilcrest. On January 12, 1933 she married George A. Meyer III in Greeley. He died on December 26, 1995. Mrs. Meyer worked at various retail stores in Greeley and was a homemaker and an Avon Representative. She collected dolls and enjoyed playing bingo, working on crafts, sewing, crossword puzzles, reading, and was an avid Rockies fan. She was a devoted grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of TOPS for 24 years. Mrs. Meyer died Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Platte Valley Medical Center in Brighton. Survivors: Sons, Kenneth Meyer and wife Jane of Boulder, Colorado, Dean Meyer and wife Ruby of Golden, Colorado; daughters, Patricia Bruce and husband Paul and Janet Kiefer and husband James, all of Brighton. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Scheere of Commerce City, Colorado and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: Her husband; daughter, Shirley Meyer on October 22, 1952; parents; three brothers and four sisters. Visitation: 12:30 �" 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2009 at Adamson Chapel, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley. Service: 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2009 at Adamson Chapel. Interment : Evans Cemetery.
