Richard "Rick" Scott Zelinger

Richard "Rick” Zelinger June 13, 1962 �" January 14, 2009 Age: 46 Residence: Greeley, CO Tribute: Richard Scott "Rick” Zelinger was born in Denver, Colorado to Eugene and Barbara Lee (Snyder) Zelinger. He grew up in Denver and received his GED. He served with the United States Navy from 1985 �" 1989 and was honorably discharged. On October 31, 1989 he married Elizabeth Robles in Denver. He attended the University of Northern Colorado and graduated in 2000 with a degree as a Physicist. Mr. Zelinger taught physics as a substitute teacher and was a member of the Society of Physics Students. He was a private pilot and enjoyed riding motorcycles, fixing Volkswagons and Harley motorcycles. He also had a great love for trains and rockets. Mr. Zelinger was a brilliant man who loved his wife and children very much. He will be greatly missed. Mr. Zelinger died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Berthoud Living Center in Berthoud, Colorado. Survivors: His wife, Elizabeth Zelinger; daughter, Crystal Lee Zelinger and son, Alexander Eugene Zelinger all of Greeley. He is also survived by his father and step mother, Gene Zelinger and Shari Osborn of Deer Trail, Colorado; mother and step-father, Bobbi Zelinger and Cliff O’Connell of Denver; father-in-law, Jesus Nobles of the Philippines; a sister, Julie Ann Dornik and husband Jim of Deforest, Wisconsin. Preceeded in death by: Brother, Gerald Todd Zelinger; mother-in-law, Alfonsa Nobles; grandparents, Melvin and Anne Zelinger and Manuel and Sylvia Snyder. Visitation: Friends may visit from 4-8 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2009 at Adamson Chapel, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley. Services: Service with Military Honors will be at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver. Inurnment: Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver.
