Frank Lynn Vetter

Frank Lynn Vetter, 70, of Johnstown passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016 at Pathways Hospice in Loveland. He was born September 26, 1945 in Greeley to Frank and Clara (Wiest) Vetter. He grew up on the family farm north of Milliken. Frank was very proud that the Vetter farm became a Centennial farm owned by the family for 110 years. After graduating from Roosevelt High School in Johnstown, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served four years aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Kearsarge. Frank married Margaret L. Betz on October 1, 1971. Frank went to work at Hewlett-Packard upon his discharge. He was a master plumber during his forty year career there. He retired from Hewlett-Packard/Agilent/Avago. Frank was currently employed part-time at the Loveland Auto Auction. He also served on the Johnstown City Council. During retirement, his greatest joy was supporting his six grandchildren in everything they did. Frank is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughter, Heidi (David) Ziegler of Greeley; son, Karl (Ashley) Vetter of Johnstown; six grandchildren, Macy, Addy and Henry Ziegler, Avery, Paige and Molly Vetter; brothers, Larry and Charles Vetter of Milliken; sister, Pam (Bob) Ebner of Fort Collins; half-sister, Betty (Meryl) Beeler of Johnstown and brother-in-law, Brian Smith of Greeley as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sharon Smith. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 5, 2016 at the First Congregational Church of Loveland, 800 N. Lincoln Avenue.
