Elenore Ruth Wassemiller

Elenore Wassemiller August 8, 1914 �" March 2, 2007 Age: 92 Residence: Greeley, formerly of Aurora, Colorado. Tribute: Elenore Ruth (Kamla) Wassemiller was born in North Platte, Nebraska to Tobias and Amelia (Rath) Kamla. Her family moved to a western Kansas farm and endured the dust bowl era. She graduated from Winona Kansas High School where she had the skill to earn a letter in girl’s basketball. She married Edward Henry Wassemiller June 23, 1935 in Colby, Kansas, and started their home in Oakley, Kansas until a new business opportunity promoted a move to Greeley, Colorado. Elenore prided herself as a devoted homemaker and mother to their three children and helpmate in all of her husband’s business endeavors. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends where many memories revolved around wonderful meals. They were members of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Greeley. Elenore was active in volunteer activities at Bonell Good Samaritan, was a charter member of the Greeley Women’s Club and several church missions. In 1971, Elenore and Ed moved to Heather Gardens in Aurora, Colorado and enjoyed an active retirement traveling frequently, by recreational vehicle, to visit their children and grandchildren in various parts of the U.S. They enjoyed spending winter months living in a park model home in Mesa, Arizona. They were members of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Denver, Colorado. Elenore returned to Greeley in June, 2005 residing at Fairacres Manor. She died Friday at the Hospice and Palliative Care Inpatient Unit at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. Survivors: Sons, Ed E. Wassemiller and wife Helen of Conroe, Texas, Jerrold L. Wassemiller and wife Lynette of Greeley; daughter Janette M. Wassemiller of Waterford, Michigan; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sister, Gertrude Sievers of Sacramento, CA. and brother, Clarence Kamla of Nevada, MO. Preceded in death by: Husband Edward H. Wassemiller who died October 18, 1996, her parents, three sisters, and two brothers. Services: 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2007, at Adamson Downtown Chapel, 827 5th Street in Greeley. Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens Visitation: 2:00 �" 5:00 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2007 at Adamson Downtown Chapel. Note: Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado, c/o Adamson Funeral and Cremation Services, 827 5th St., Greeley, CO 80634.
