Vida Martin April 29, 1916 �" March 22, 2007 Age: 90 Residence: Greeley, CO Tribute: Vida Olga Martin 90, was born April 29, 1916 in Omro, WI to Frederick and Amelia (Krueger) Middlestead. Mrs. Martin grew up in Wisconsin and graduated from Winnebago Lutheran Academy. On June 13, 1942 she married Christian J. Martin in Fond du Lac, WI. As a minister’s wife and homemaker she worked devotedly alongside her husband, Christian, spreading the gospel over seven states. Their ministry took them to Minnesota, Nebraska, California, North Dakota, Wyoming, and Washington before settling in Greeley, CO in 1973. Mrs. Martin’s love of the written word became an integral part of her ministry. She meticulously documented sermons, visitations, weddings, and funerals. Mrs. Martin loved photographing, family and friends. Her compassion for others easily turned into lifelong friendships. She was a wonderful cook and baker, had a love for the Bible, and she enjoyed listening to gospel music. Pastor and Mrs. Martin frequently sang duets in both English and German for special occasions. She was a member of the German Congregational Church. Mrs. Martin died Thursday, March 22, 2007 at the Life Care Center in Greeley. Survivors: Two sons, David Martin and wife Mary Jo of Sioux Falls, SD and Mark Martin and wife Diana of Woodland Park, CO; six grandchildren, Stacey Laurent of London, England, Darin Scheer of Lander, WY, Cory Scheer of Buena Vista, CO, Tara Martin of Bozeman, MT, Danielle Brooks of Philadelphia, PA, and Grant Hogarth of Fort Collins, CO; six great grandchildren; and sister, Helen Lampman of Yucaipa, CA. Preceded in death by: parents; husband, Christian Martin in 1998; and daughter, Alona Geist in 2000. Visitation: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at St. Paul’s Congregational Church. Services: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at St. Paul’s Congregational Church. Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens.
