George Riley Hill

George R. Hill May 31, 1905 �" March 28, 2007 Age: 101 Residence: Eaton and Greeley, CO Tribute: George Riley Hill was born and reared in Reno County, KS to Odus Grant and Flora Ann (Brooks) Hill. He married Elsie Rebecca Meador on February 5, 1928. After farming in Reno County, KS for 20+ years, Mr. Hill moved his family to a farm east of Cope, CO in 1947. They farmed at several different locations in that area and also had a dairy farm, hardware store and restaurant in Cope. Mr. Hill moved to Eaton, CO in 1968 to help his son run the Galeton Garage. After moving to the Eaton area, Mr. Hill also drove a school bus for 14 years. Mr. & Mrs. Hill celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on February 5, 1978 and Elsie passed away on February 22, 1978. Mr. Hill married Ruby Farnsworth in November of 1978 and they lived in rural Eaton until 1999 when Ruby moved to Missouri to be near her children. Mr. Hill then lived with his daughter and son-in-law, Rozetta and Pete Zimmerman for a number of years, then with his son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Hazel Hill for several years. Mr. Hill died Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at Fairacres Manor, after a brief illness. Survivors: Brother, Frank Hill of South Hutchison, KS; two sisters, Ruby Farthing and Edna Vedder both of South Hutchison; eleven children, Rozetta Zimmerman of Greeley, CO, Kieth Hill and wife Elsie of Brighton, CO, Wayne Hill and wife Alice of Colome, SD, Dean Hill and wife Phyllis of Cope, CO, Roy Hill of Cope, Glen Hill and wife Hazel of Eaton, CO, Harold Hill and wife Wanda of Conroe, TX, Mary Davidson and husband Herb of Red Feathers, CO, Nita Phillips and husband Paul of Eaton, Darrell Hill and wife Connie of Briggsdale, CO and Gary Hill of Kirk, CO; stepchildren, Floyd (Butch) King and wife Gloria of Hutchinson and family and Melody Casper and husband Kip of Arkansas and family; 32 grandchildren; 64 great grandchildren; and 44 great-great grandchildren. Preceded in Death by: Wife, Elsie Hill; wife Ruby Hill; two brothers; five sisters; one infant child; five grandchildren. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2007 at Adamson Downtown Chapel.
