Vicki Lynn Hunt, 55, of Johnstown passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 surrounded by her family after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born in Denver, CO to Ronald L. and Doris E. (Zoller) Lewis. She graduated from Eaton High School Class of 1979. Vicki married Steven A. Hunt on June 27, 1987 in Golden, CO She worked as a Daycare Provider for 25 years, watching a number of children grow up throughout the years. Vicki was the "community mother”. Having done daycare in Johnstown for many, many years she helped raise countless kids in the area. She loved and treated each one of her "Barnyard Buddies” just the same as she did her own children. The Hunt House was always the house that had kids of all ages in and around it. If a parent did not know where their child had gone, it was a safe bet that Vicki was the first person they called to find out if their child was there. FAMILY is what Vicki Hunt was really put on this earth to be about. Her family surrounded her, she quietly guided them, kept them close by her side, brought them along as she collected even more family...everyone became family in Vicki's world. Doris became our mom and grandma too! When Steve fried the turkey, everyone shared in the bounty. Our kids all became each other's brothers and sisters, along with Melissa, Ashley and Matt. It was Vicki magic! She waved her wand and all became like FAMILY to her. Vicki was also the consummate friend, and her tireless devotion to her people will leave many with the perfect example of what friendship and loyalty truly should be. Many of her beloved kids grew up to become treasured, precious friends. She will be missed by countless of her peeps, or "chicks" as she called them. Her laugh was playful and infectious, matching her fun-loving personality, which was selfless and accepting of all. Time spent with Vicki will be sweet memories to all she called 'friend'. Losing Vicki has left a huge void in all of our hearts. But it is because of having known her that we will all be okay. We will make it through this tough time together. Vicki was the best model of strength, love and making it through the tough times. She showed us that there was always something to enjoy, love and laugh about. Vicki never gave up on anyone even when given plenty of reasons that would have made it absolutely acceptable to walk away and give up. We are all different and better people because of her love and her lessons. We can take Vicki’s example and continue her legacy by living our lives the way that she lived. She enjoyed Scrapbooking trips to Estes Park, Cruises, spending time with her children and grandchildren, Soap Operas, LOVED Christmas, family vacations, naps, shopping, laughing and loving life! Survivors include her husband, Steve; children, Melissa (Byron) Harlow, Ashley (BJ) Cummins, and Matthew Hunt; grandchildren, Christopher Harlow-Kamnick, Alexander Harlow-Kamnick, Noah Harlow and Brayden Storie; parents, Ronald and Doris Lewis; siblings, David (Karen) Lewis and Michele (John) Melito. She was preceded in death by her grandparents William & Lillian Zoller and Lloyd & Cleone Lewis. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 12 at Roosevelt High School, 616 N. 2nd Street, Johnstown with a reception to follow. Friends are invited to wear purple to the service and bring a memory that can be shared in a scrapbook for Vicki. A Mother’s love is something That no one can explain, It is made of deep devotion And of sacrifice and pain, It is endless and unselfish And enduring come what may For nothing can destroy it Or take that love away --Helen Steiner Rice
