Nicholas James Schmidt

Nicholas James Schmidt, 36, of Evans, CO passed away on November 17, 2016. Nicholas was born on February 28, 1980 in Wichita, KS to Chris and Kandye (Ruzicka) Schmidt. He grew up in Evans and graduated from Greeley West High School in 2001. Nicholas worked for Sleep’n Comfort and Gordon’s Liquor Mart in Greeley. Nicholas was an Eagle Scout. He loved music and was a spectacular guitarist. Nicholas also loved animals and was a volunteer for the Humane Society of Weld County. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Greeley. Nicholas is survived by his parents, Chris and Kandye Schmidt of Evans; sister, Katie Schmidt of Littleton; grandmother, Janice Winters; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents, John and Elaine Schmidt, Gary Winters, and Chiz Ruzicka. Viewing will be from 5- 7 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2016 both at Adamson. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2222 23rd Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
