Lindsay L. Waldo
April 6th, 1944 - May 4th, 2007
Lindsay L. Waldo April 4, 1944 - May 24, 2007 Age: 63 Residence: Greeley Tribute: Lindsay L. Waldo was born in Morristown, N.J., to J. Franklin and Betty Holgren Lane. Her father was killed in World War II and she was later adopted by her step-father, William F. Drake. Lindsay was a devoted wife, loving mother, loyal friend, caring colleague, and friendly neighbor. Lindsay had an unflagging energy and enthusiasm that she dedicated to her family, her church, her friends, and to enjoying life fully, whether work or play. Lindsay spent her early years in New Jersey and Gladwyne, Penn., a suburb of Philadelphia, where she graduated from high school. She attended Principia College in Elsah, Ill., graduating in 1966 with majors in English and Elementary Education. After finishing college, Lindsay moved to Boston, Mass., where she taught first grade. While teaching, she earned her Master’s in Reading Education from Boston University. In Boston, she met and married Chris Cole with whom she had two children, Benjamin (Jamie) and Courtney. She taught first grade until the birth of her children, when she focused her attention on raising them full-time for ten years. After a few more years of teaching, Lindsay began selling real estate, which was a natural fit with her friendly demeanor, strong work ethic, and dedication to helping others. Lindsay has worked as a real estate agent at Sears Real Estate for the last eleven years. Lindsay met Rob Waldo in Washington, D. C. in 1991 at a church meeting and moved to Greeley after marrying Rob in a ceremony overlooking Lovejoy Pond in Readfield, Me., on July 1, 1995. She brought her passion and enthusiasm to many organizations and activities. Lindsay was a member of the Christian Science Church in Fort Collins, the Assistance League of Greeley, the Philharmonic Guild, the Greeley Downtown Development Authority, the Greeley Newcomers Club, and a volunteer, board member, and president of the Weld Food Bank. Lindsay also enjoyed gardening, walking and hiking, dancing, attending musical and theater performances, traveling, and entertaining friends and family.
