Gary Whitmer, 67, of Greeley passed away April 12, 2009 at Northern Colorado Medical Center. He was born in Clark, Co to Russell L. and Thelma (Wallis) Whitmer. Gary served in the United States Army, and was stationed in Germany. Gary owned the Rainbow Park Ranch in Clark, Co where he raised cattle, hay, and offered sleigh rides in the winter. Gary loved the outdoors; he was as avid elk hunter and lifetime member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He also loved fishing and his dog Mutley. Gary touched many lives, and will be missed by all who knew him. Gary is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Whitmer Brillard of Greeley, and Stephanie Whitmer of Ft. Collins; 94 year old mother, Thelma Whitmer of Steamboat Springs; siblings, Glen Whitmer, Cindy Osborne, Jackie Lutz, and Diana Hillewaert; and former wife Carolyn Whitmer. He is preceded in death by his father. Services will be held at a later time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation c/o Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO.
