Chester "Chet" Koehn

Chester Koehn, 98, left this earth on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Garden Square of Greeley and was welcomed into his Heavenly Father’s arms at 7 pm. Born May 11, 1919 in Burton, KS, he married Vivian Becker Koehn October 28, 1940 in Enid, Oklahoma. They moved from Oklahoma to Greeley with their family in 1970. Throughout Chester’s life, he was employed by Robertson Steel Company and Zimmerman Steel. He owned and operated his own company, Consolidated Builders then worked for and retired from Central Homes of Greeley. Chester loved his family and the state of Colorado. He especially appreciated the mountains. As an accomplished guitarist, he enjoyed performing in talent shows with a group in Oklahoma as well as playing on Friday nights with family and friends. He had a thirst for knowledge, throughout his entire life he never stopped engaging in the process of learning. Chester had a deep faith in God which directed his life and love for family. He is survived by his sons; Jack Koehn (LaVeta), Perry Koehn (Cathy), Reed Koehn (Marge) and Ross Koehn all residing in Greeley and two siblings Harry Koehn and Lucille Koehn Preston. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. He was reunited in heaven with Vivian, the love of his life for 63 years, his parents, Andrew and Susie Koehn, one older sibling, Lester, two younger siblings, Alvin Koehn and Delcie Koehn Wedel, his daughter-in-law Linda Koehn and one grandson, Joseph Koehn. Visitation will be form 3-5p.m. Sunday July 23, 2017 at Adamson. A Life Celebration Service will be held at Christ Community Church, 1301 15th St., Greeley on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 1:00 pm. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
