Monty Lee Kraus, 40 passed away Saturday evening, May 2, 2009 at North Colorado Medical Center. He was born June 29, 1968 at Weld General Hospital to Larry and Darlene (Kerbel) Kraus of rural Eaton. The youngest of three boys and a younger sister, Monty spent his early years on the family farm. The family moved to Loveland in 1972 and to Windsor in 1976 where Monty attended Windsor High School. Monty worked for Universal Forest Products of Windsor for nine years and later at Pawnee Butte Seed of Greeley as a warehouse foreman for ten years. Monty enjoyed fishing, camping and working in his yard. He especially loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. Survivors are sister, Shauna Stewart and husband Corey of Greeley, brother, Kelly and wife Michelle Kraus of Greeley, brother Marty Kraus of Denver, grandmother, Dolly Kraus, 91 of Windsor, Uncle Bob and wife Sherry Kerbel of Greeley, aunts, Joyce and Larry Waag of Pierce and Karen and Steve Schmidt of Windsor, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. Monty is preceded in death by his parents, two grandfathers and one grandmother. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2009 at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 225 6th St. LaSalle, CO. Cremation and inurnment at Rose Lawn Cemetery, 1900 W Mountain Avenue, Ft. Collins, CO.
