John Alfred Anderson died unexpectedly at North Colorado Medical Center on August 14, 2017 in Greeley, CO at the age of 69. John is survived by his wife Susan Deborah Anderson, a daughter Susan Michelle Anderson-Smith and son-in-law Ross Smith, one grandson Jordan Josiah Smith all of Greeley, and three sisters: Shirley Ann Anderson, Charlene Anderson, and Sharon Anderson of Des Moines IW. He is preceded in death by his father Roy S Anderson, his mother Phyllis A Anderson and brother Ralph Anderson, all of Des Moines Iowa. John was born on May 4, 1948 in Ottumwa IW. He graduated from East High School in Des Moines Iowa and later graduated Aims Community College with his Associates Degree in 2005 in Greeley. John proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from 1966-1972. John was an amazing husband to his wife Susan and father to his only child Michelle and cherished by his only grandson Jordan. John enjoyed fishing, camping, going to the movie theater, and long talks with his dearest friend Mark Benn of Fort Collins CO. A service will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 3698 S Sheridan Blvd, Denver CO 80235 with Military Honors. On August 31, 2017 at 1:00PM Staging Area A.
