Wilbert "Willy" R. Wiedeman
November 27th, 1936 - October 2nd, 2017
Wilbert "Willy” Roy Wiedeman, 80, of Greeley passed away peacefully at Tru Hospice of Northern Colorado on Monday, October 2, 2017 surrounded by family. He was born November 27, 1936 in Windsor to William "Bill” and Mary (Hoff) Wiedeman. He attended LaGrange Country School through the 8th grade and graduated from Windsor High School in 1954. He joined the family farming operation and later became a farmer, farming for 2 years. He married Marjorie "Margie” Yvonne Branca on December 9, 1961 and they moved to Greeley. Willy worked for Ellis and Capp Equipment for a few years, later on joining the firm of White Trucking Company in Denver. He won many awards for being in the top sales, serving Eastern Colorado and requiring a lot of hours of travel. He later became interested in oil and to this day is still considered an "Oil Man”. He became very involved in the fracking of wells and required many hours of travel and sleeping in the pick-up truck. Willy and Margie loved to travel and were fortunate to go to Europe, Hawaii, Canada, Bahama, and traveled to 42 states in their motor home with friends. Washington D.C. was a favorite of theirs. He was an avid fisherman and golfer, winning many golf tournaments. He was always ready to lend a helping hand when needed, whether building a doll house or finishing a basement. He did excellent carpentry work and was a perfectionist in any of the work he did. He was a fan of the Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos, enjoying many sports on his big screen TV. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margie; nephews, Steven Stromberger and Frank Moore, Jr. Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Ed Stromberger; nieces, Cheryl Moore and Lori Stromberger; great-nieces, Dr. Sara Moore and Andrea Hein; great, great-nieces, Alexis and Megan Bailey and Audrey Williams; great, great-nephew, Jamison Williams; aunt, Katie Hoff as well as cousins and many friends. He will be missed by many, especially for his generous spirit. A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, October 5 at Adamson Life Celebration Home. Interment 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 6 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with service to follow at Adamson at 3:00 p.m. Friday. A reception will follow the service. Memorial gifts may be made to "TRU Hospice”, "Alzheimer’s Association” or "American Cancer Society” in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.
