Della Baca Freemyer

Della Sierra Baca Freemyer, 94, of Greeley, Colorado died September 2, 2009 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born March 13, 1915 in Avondale, Colorado to Ramos and Eulalia (Gallegos) Sierra. She grew up in the LaSalle/Platteville area and graduated from College High School in 1933. In 1935 she married Jose L. (Lee) Baca. Together they had seven children. In 1952 Della, Lee and family moved to Greeley where she worked for many years at Meadow Gold Dairy as a bookkeeper. She was a devoted mother who was loved by all who knew her. She was steadfast in her love of God. She loved to dance, listen to lively music, play bingo, bowl and was happiest when she was with her family. She is survived by her children, Rachel, Dorothy, Frank, Stella, Viola, Louella and Shirley; 23 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and her brother, Alvin Sierra. She is preceded in death by her husband Lee; parents; grandson, Michael Yates; sister, Leda Sierra Baca; brothers, Russel, Ted, Fred, Alfred, John and Cecil Sierra; and her second husband, Lawrence E. (Ed) Freemyer. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at St. Peter Catholic Church followed by Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. with interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pikes Peak Hospice in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
