Elmer Duane Robbs

Elmer Duane Robbs, 75, of rural Nunn passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018 at his home. He was born October 9, 1942 in Windsor to Elmer Duane and Eva Marie (Feit) Robbs. His father worked in construction and the family moved frequently after a job was completed and a new one began. Duane graduated from high school in Craig, CO and married Betty Marlene Batman on June 18, 1965. He served in the U.S. Army from January 25, 1966 to January 24, 1969 during the Vietnam War. Upon his return he became a heavy equipment operator and attended AIMS Community College, receiving his Associate’s degree. He had most recently worked for Weld County Public Works before retiring. Duane enjoyed camping with family, riding motorcycles and keeping his yard nice and tidy. He enjoyed time at the T-Bar Inn in Wellington and they took great care of him after Betty passed away. He was also a member of the Ault VFW. Survivors include his sons; Roy (Debbie) Paynter of Arizona, Michael Robbs of Nunn and Jimmie (Chris) Robbs of Evans; grandchildren, Joshua (Hannah) and their children Josephine and Freya, Jonathon (Tiffany) and their children Quinley, Brinlynn and Ketcher, Jordan (Briana) Jonah (Peyton), Alexis, Tristan, Cody, Sherry, Clarissa and Tony; sister, Dorothy Miller of Simsboro, LA, Larry (Emily) Robbs of Hacienda Heights, CA and Jerry (Gia) Steely of Brighton. He was preceded in death by his wife; sister, Diane Najarian and his parents. The family will host an open house at the Ault VFW on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 12’noon to 4 p.m. Memorial gifts may be made to the "Ault VFW” in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.
