Robert Roy Lewis

Robert "Roy” Lewis, 79, of Greeley, CO passed away March 18, 2018 at Tru Hospice of Northern Colorado. He was born June 14, 1938 in Severance, CO to Walter Eugene and Mary Ishmael (Phillips) Lewis. He attended school in Pierce, CO where he played basketball, football and was on the track team. On June 24, 1956 he married Betty Jane Miller at the Ault Christian Church. Roy farmed in the Pierce and Eaton area. He was also employed at Monfort Pack, Sterling Beef and Weld County, retiring in 2000. He enjoyed camping, hunting, traveling and gambling. Roy is survived by his wife, Betty Jane Lewis; sons, Mike J. Lewis, David Lee (Connie) Lewis; grandchildren, Duane Lewis, Melissa White, Courtney Lewis, Kelsie Lewis and Connor Lewis; five great grandchildren; and brother, Wray Lewis. He was preceded in death by his children, Walter Roy Lewis and Randie Lynn Lewis; siblings, Eugene Lewis, Lavinia Housley, Joe Lewis, and Bonnie Preston. Viewing will be from 9-10 a.m. followed by Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018 at First Church of the Nazarene, 2515 West 16th Street, Greeley. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to "Tru Hospice of Northern Colorado” in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
