Rodney James Cole, 80, of Greeley passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 in Greeley. He was born October 4, 1937 in Lincoln, NE to Kenneth and Evelyn (Enright) Cole where he grew up and graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School. Rod served in the U.S. Army, receiving an honorable discharge. He then began his career with the U.S. Postal Service in Nebraska, transferring to Denver and retiring from the largest route in Arvada. He played softball with his letter carrier friends and participated in a number of bowling leagues over the years. He loved the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Denver Broncos football teams. Rod was a member of the Elks, DAV and American Legion. Survivors include his sister; Linda Kelly, daughters; Jill (Vic) Pokorny, Kim Hart, Janel (Blair) Williamson; son, Rod (Felicia) Cole, Jr.; stepchildren, Nick Coberly and April McChesney; six grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandy Sobotka. Interment will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, March 30 at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Life Celebration service 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Adamson Chapel with reception to follow. Friends may leave condolences at adamsoncares.com.
