Claudia Kay Hunter
June 13th, 1952 - March 22nd, 2018
Claudia "Kay” (Ginther) Hunter passed away March 22, 2018 at her residence in Centennial, CO. She was born on June 13, 1952 to Raymond and Grace (Osborne) Ginther in Greeley, CO. Kay grew up in Greeley and graduated from Greeley Central High School. After she married Gary L. Hunter in 1971, they moved to the greater Denver area. Kay’s career began as a nurse’s aide. She then obtained her license to become a nursing home administrator and later became the owner/operator of the Glenn of Brighton assisted living facility for seven years. Kay’s career spans over 32 years in the health care field. After retiring Kay got to enjoy her time doing what she wanted, travelling, shopping and being with her entire family. She was a very kind hearted person, who always cheered for the underdog. Kay supported several animal rescues and never met a dog she did not love. In Kay’s words, "Life is all about the handbag you carry and the shoes that you wear”! Kay would always say to everyone in the family, "I love you to the moon and back”, and those were her last words in her final days. Kay is survived by her husband, Gary Hunter of Centennial; son, Nicholas Hunter (Laila Elturk) of Centennial; brothers, Randy Ginther and Dean Ginther (Wendy) all of Greeley; and a loving extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Beverly Meis and Donna Mae Ginther; brother, Donald Ginther; sister-in-law, Anita Ginther; and her beloved dog/best friend, Duke. Kay’s life celebration service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Adamson Chapel in Greeley. Interment will follow at Evans Cemetery, Evans Colorado. Memorial contributions may be made in Kay's name to "Denver Dumb Friends League" in care of Adamson Life Celebration Home, 2000 47th Avenue Greeley 80634. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.AdamsonCares.com .
