Norma Wonenberg

Norma Jean Wonenberg, 81, of Greeley died Friday, October 23, 2009 at Northern Colorado Long Term Acute Hospital in Johnstown, CO. She was born June 21, 1928 in Indianola, Nebraska to Leslie and Iva (Harris) Cole. She graduated from Eaton High School in 1946 and Central Business School in 1947. She married and divorced Edward Ellerson. On August 24, 1957 she married Edward Wonenberg in Greeley. Norma was a secretary for Denver Fire Clay and US Geological Survey in Denver. She worked at Greeley National Bank and Farmers Home Administration and was office manager in the Admissions Office at the University of Northern Colorado from 1957 until her retirement in 1986. She was past Star Recorder of Women of the Moose, Chapter #1215, a member of Senior Citizens, RSVP and Women’s Hospital Auxiliary. She was also a volunteer for the Medical Library at North Colorado Medical Center and a member of Calvary Chapel in Greeley. She enjoyed traveling and was proud of visiting eighteen foreign countries and all fifty United States. She is survived by her daughter, Dianne McClanahan and husband Lyle of Cathedral City, CA; son, Terry Wonenberg and wife Linda of Greeley; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a sister, Wilma Seleen and husband Rodney of Fort Collins, CO. She is preceded in death by her husband Eddie Wonenberg who passed away in 2003. Friends may visit from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Adamson Chapel. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2009 at Adamson Chapel. Interment will be at Linn Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to "North Colorado Medical Center Foundation” for breast cancer treatment in care of Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services, 2000 47th Avenue Greeley, CO 80634.
