Judy L. Mead, 85, of Kansas City, MO passed away on July 15, 2018. She was born on March 27, 1933 in Aurora, IL to Harry and Grace (Johanssen) Mead. Judy grew up in California and graduated from North Hollywood High School. After high school she attended University of Southern California, Los Angeles Valley Community College, University of Redlands, Princeton Theology in New Jersey, San Francisco Theology, Iliff School of Theology in Denver, CO, and obtained her PhD from the University of Denver. Judy was one of the first women ministers in the United States, beginning her ministry in the 1960’s. She enjoyed reading, learning, economics, counseling and mentoring people, and developing relationships. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of the United States of America. Judy is survived by her adopted family, Jerri (George) Scott of Bates City, MO, Liz Reagin (Bob) Alexander of Greeley, CO, Jim and Linda Presba, and many others. She was preceded in death by her parents. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at the Ault Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the "Judy Mead Memorial Fund” in care of Adamson Life Celebration Home, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
