Allie Cary Lewis, Jr., 74, of Greeley, CO passed away December 26, 2018 at the Northern Colorado Long Term Acute Hospital in Johnstown. He was born April 2, 1944 in Yuma, AZ to Allie Cary and Bertha (Daugherty) Lewis, Sr. He grew up in Arizona attending Kofa High School in Yuma where he was State Wrestling Champion. Allie attended Arizona State for one year playing football before sustaining a neck injury. He moved to Los Angeles, CA and started his career with Southern Pacific Railroad. While there he met Lesley A. Cohen and they were married six months later on October 23, 1968 in Reno, NV. In the early 1980’s they moved to Olathe, KS where he continued working for Southern Pacific, which became Union Pacific Railroad. From Kansas they moved to Cheyenne, WY where he worked for 16 years before retiring and relocating to Greeley to be closer to his grandchildren. Allie enjoyed genealogy, college football and electronics. He is survived by his wife, Lesley Lewis; son, Jeffrey Lewis; daughter, Kelly (David) McCalla; grandchildren, Morgan and Evan McCalla; brothers; Bertin, Keith and Gregory Lewis; and half-sister, Rosemary Littleton. Allie was preceded in death by his parents; and step mother, Virginia Lewis. Per Mr. Lewis’ request, no services are scheduled. Memorial contributions may be made to "Wounded Warriors” in care of Adamson Life Celebration Home, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, Colorado 80634.
