Charles "Charlie" William Daugherty
May 15th, 1922 - February 28th, 2015
Charles W. Daugherty died Feb. 28, 2015. He was 92. He died at Willamette Falls Hospital following a brief illness. Charles was born May 15, 1922, in Molalla, Ore., to Fred and Agnes Daugherty. He was born in the house built by his father and uncles. He attended grade school at Teasel Creek and high school at Molalla Union High School. He graduated in 1940 and continued farming. Charles married Wanda Coover Sept. 23, 1946, and they lived on the family farm. They were married 68 years. They had two children, Roger and Connie. Charles was a member of Clackamas County Stockman’s Assn., Oregon Hampshire Sheep Assn., Oregon Limousin Cattle Assn. and Saddle Club organizations. He produced and exhibited registered Hampshire sheep throughout the west coast, winning many awards. He and his wife were pioneers in breeding Limousin cattle. They had a dairy farm in the late 1940s through the 1950s. In the early 1940s, he raised and sold turkeys. Charles was also a truck driver for 35 years. Charles was known for his strong work ethic and love of storytelling. His pride and joy was his family. He is survived by his wife; his daughter, Connie Davidson (Mike); son, Roger Daugherty; and grandchildren, Ryan, Travis, and Katelin Davidson and Aaron Daugherty. He was preceded in death by his parents. Contributions may be made to Adams Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Molalla Funeral Chapel.
