Everett C. Darco
May 24th, 1954 - July 13th, 2019
It is with great sadness we say goodbye to our loving husband, dad, grandpa, son, and brother Everett Clarence, 65 of Windsor, CO. He passed away on July 13, 2019 at his parents’ home in Mahnomen, MN. Born to Everett J. & Gloria M. (Neustal) Darco, on May 24, 1954 in Mahnomen, MN, Everett graduated from Mahnomen Public schools in 1972. He attended Moorhead Technical College in Moorhead, MN where he graduated with a Graphic Arts degree. He moved to Colorado in 1976 where he worked for the State of Colorado as a parts runner and a cook at the Weld County Jail and eventually Hewlett Packard. For 31 years he worked in various capacities culminating in the position of Customer Visit Manager, where he was able to greet and create relationships with many collaborators of HP before he retired in 2009. In October of 1976 he met Beverly Ann Brass of Greeley and they were married the following year on October 8, 1977. They settled in Windsor and raised their family. They were blessed with 2 daughter’s, Courtney Leigh and Valerie Anne. The light of Everett’s life was his girls and his grandchildren, Robert Jr. and Natalie. In his youth Everett enjoyed spending time at the family lake home designing and making surfboards, and water skiing. Everett had a love for art and photography from an early age. He had fond memories of growing up very close to his grandmother Alice Neustal, which led into an eternal commitment to always ensure that he visited elders of the family and was sure that they were included in family events. Everett was a kind and wise older brother to his siblings and always held their confidence and was always there to provide them with love and encouragement. Everett was an avid photographer, often behind the lens at family events. He also had a passion for art and was an incredible stained-glass artist. He often made special projects for friends and family including memorial pieces for both Skyview Elementary School and Trinity Lutheran Church. Everett had a green thumb and a love for plants! He tended to his garden and his sunroom flowers on a daily basis. His prize-winning orchids were regularly given to church events, family weddings, and funerals. It was also not unusual for Everett to show up at appointments and bring orchids to staff. Everett loved to strike up a conversation with anyone he ran into. He exhibited a genuine interest in knowing others. He regularly would give orchids to friends who wanted to learn to grow them and share his knowledge and passion. Everett took joy and great pride in being a grandfather. He never missed an opportunity to take care of his grandchildren. He attended all of their school event, sports practices and games, and regularly took them to movies, the pool and the park. He showered them with love and affection and often referred to them as his greatest joy. Everett is survived by his parents, Everett & Gloria Darco; his wife of 41 years Beverly Darco; children, Courtney Darco (James) and Valerie (Robert) Trotter; grandchildren, Robert Trotter, Jr. and Natalie Trotter; sister Julie (Perry) Doerfler; brothers John (Peggy) Darco, and Doug Darco; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his beloved mother-in-law, Gretchen Brass. Visitation 4-7 p.m. Monday, July 22 at Adamson. Life Celebration service 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 23 at Trinity Lutheran Church. A reception will follow at the church. Memorial gifts may be made to "Craig Rehabilitation Hospital” in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634. Friends may leave condolences at AdamsonCares.com.
