Julia Leal

Julia Leal, 97, of Greeley, passed away on October 17, 2019 in Greeley, Colorado surrounded by family. She was born to Alfredo and Concepcion (Mendes) Solis on January 10, 1922 in Greeley, Colorado. She married the love of her life, Joe Leal on April 12, 1942. They were married for 70+ years, until his passing, on October 11, 2012. Julia loved to socialize, cook for her family and have family and friends gathering. She adored her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Her Catholic faith was always at the top of her list. She enjoyed watching western movies and animal plant. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her. Julia is survived by her children, Vi (Joe) Ibarra, Juanita Leal, Mary Aragon, Judy Leal and Jolene Damian; grandchildren, George (Sabrina) Damian, Julie (Gabe) Lezama, Joey (Karie) Solano, Debbie (Isaac) Penaflor, David (Charity) Aragon and Johnny Damian; 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and a large extended family and friends. Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; son, Jose Pablo Leal; her parents; siblings, Ricarda, Charles, Jessie, Daniel, Frank and Mary. Rosary will start at 11 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with funeral mass to follow at 11:30 am on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 in Greeley, Colorado.
