Norman Jakel
June 17th, 1939 - November 1st, 2019
Norman Jakel, 80, of Greeley, CO passed away November 1, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. He was born June 17, 1939 in Greeley to Henry and Mary Ellen Jakel. He graduated from Johnstown high school in 1960 and joined the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1965. Norman married Mary Lou Krieger on May 19, 1963. Norman loved fishing and watching the Colorado Rockies and Nuggets. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary Lou was the love of his life for 56 years. Happy to have shared his life are his wife, Mary Lou Jakel; daughter, Michelle Gonzalez and husband Al; son, Harold Jakel and wife, Misty all of Greeley; grandchildren, Matthew and Stephanie Geist of Greeley and Jamie and Megan Jakel of Avon, CO, and Sarah Jakel of Greeley; and great grandchildren, Gio, Kaiden and Stella of Greeley. The family will host a celebration of Norman’s life 1 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the home of Harold and Misty Jakel, 804 42nd Street Road, Evans, CO.
