Laura Ann Dinkel
August 13th, 1921 - November 15th, 2007
Laura Ann Dinkel was born in Monmouth, Kansas to Julius Frank and Flossie Belle (Mock) Layton. She grew up in Kansas and attended school in Los Animas, Colorado. On January 16, 1939 she married Peter Leo Dinkel Sr. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Los Animas, CO. In 1944 they moved from Los Animas to the north Weld County area. Mrs. Dinkel worked as a stocking clerk for Eagle Claw fishing and tackle in Greeley and Denver from 1954 until 1996 when she retired. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Greeley. Mrs. Dinkel died Thursday, November 15, 2007 at North Colorado Medical Center. Survivors: Her daughters, Mary Thornton of Ault, CO, Alice Leonard and husband Robert of Eaton, CO, Geneva Babbitt of Greeley; son, Peter Leo Dinkel Jr. and wife Dorothy of Evans, CO; 15 grand children; 38 great-grand children; one great-great-grand child; brothers Lester Layton of Gulf Port MS, Howard Layton and wife Doretta of Westminster, CO. Preceded in death by: Her husband on August 28, 1977; parents; grandson Jeffry Babbitt; great-grandson Austin Maddox; sister Anna Marie Lawrence. Visitation: Friends may visit from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at Adamson Downtown Chapel. Rosary: Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at Adamson Downtown Chapel. Service: Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at St. Peter Catholic Church. Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens Notes: In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Laura Dinkel Memorial Fund c/o Adamson Funeral and Cremation Services 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634
