Marilyn J. Lesser
January 31st, 1933 - April 18th, 2020
Marilyn Joyce Lesser, 87, died at 4:30 P.M. on Saturday April 18, 2020. Marilyn was in GOD’s loving arms along with her daughter’s when she passed. A private graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 30 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. A Life Celebration at First Christian Church will be announced at a later date. Marilyn, the daughter of Orlo M. and Ethel M. (Billings) Truesdell, was born on January 31, 1933 in Eaton Colorado. She attended La Grange & Hazelton schools. In 1944, her family moved to Wakeeney, Kansas and then returned to Colorado in 1946. Marilyn attended Meeker Junior High school and graduated from Greeley High in 1950. Following graduation, she worked at Weld County Hospital and later worked for Hendrie and Bolthiff Company. On December 30,1951, Marilyn married Harold C. Lesser at the Presbyterian Church in LaSalle. She later moved with her husband to Pensacola, Florida where he was stationed with the U.S. Navy. In 1953 they moved to Whidby Island, Washington until he completed his tour of duty. In 1955, they moved to Kansas City, Missouri and she worked in the Loan Office at City National Bank & Trust. When they returned to Greeley, Marilyn was employed by Monfort’s for thirty-one years as an Executive Secretary before her retirement in 1992. Marilyn and her husband traveled extensively throughout the United States and other countries. They loved vacationing and spending good times with their dear friends Richard and Darlene Helzer. She always enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Marilyn enjoyed dancing to Swing Band music, bowling, ceramics, and baking numerous family goodies for the holidays. Most of all she loved staying active with her church and visiting various relatives in Kansas. Words alone can never truly express our sincere and heartfelt thanks to everyone at Windsong Memory Care who has taken such good care of Marilyn. You gave her and her family such great happiness and support throughout her stay there. It has been so encouraging to know that we had a community of care givers that embraced her journey. May God bless you richly! Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold and brother Donald L. Truesdell. Marilyn is survived by her daughter Jami Shepherd and Chris Pacheco of Littleton, Colorado; Jerry L. Truesdell, brother, Patricia A. Rhone, sister, all of Greeley. Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews from the Truesdell, Lesser and Adkisson families. Memorial contributions may be made to the "First Christian Church” in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634. Friends may leave condolences at Adamson Cares.com.
