Gordon A. McIver

Devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend, Gordon Angus McIver passed away peacefully on April 23, 2020 after a long illness. Born June 13, 1929 in Chinook, MT to parents Angus McIver of Carloway, Scotland and Martha (Staff) McIver of Chinook, MT. He is the youngest brother of Lillian LaCroix of Missoula, MT. and deceased siblings – Donald John McIver of Falbrook, CA and Kathy Syverson of Missoula, MT. Devoted husband of Sue (Brown) McIver for 65 years, he is the father of Deb DeBoutez (Bruce Cooper), Phyllis McIver (Melissa Jamison), Don McIver (Mindy Grossberg), Shannon McIver (Roger Martinez), and Pat Curry Cream (Leah Mitchell) and beloved Grandfather of Sann DeBoutez (Emmis Chellman), Breece DeBoutez, Connor Lyons, and great grand(tickley)father of one. An Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict as an Air traffic controller and a graduate of University of Texas and Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Austin, TX he touched many lives in the many cities he lived in the American West. He is loyal servant to Jesus Christ and an active community member and teacher at Cornerstone Community Church in Greeley, CO. A loyal friend with kind words, honest, loving affection, he was also the consummate Dad – corny jokes, running fast, gadget buying, whisker rubs and all. His greatest gift was that not a day went by where his children and wife did not feel loved. So many were touched by him. So many heavy hearts left behind.
