Elsie Louise Davis

Elsie Louise Holdren Davis, 101, of Greeley passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2020. She was born February 5, 1919 in Stanton, MO to Charles and Bertha (Wyatt) Campbell. At a very young age, the family moved to Morton Mills, Iowa where she received her education. On May 2, 1940 she married Harley James Holdren. He later passed away and she married Bill Bedford Davis in July 1999. In 1954, the family moved north of Weldona, CO where they raised cattle, horses, and kids. Elsie had a great love for the ranch and the prairie. She drove a school bus for the Weldon Valley School District for a number of years. Elsie loved to dance and dance and dance some more! She also liked to read, cook, sew and embroider many items for her family. The most important to her was time with her family. She was a member of the Goodrich Presbyterian Church and Farmer’s Union of Morgan County. Survivors include her sons; John (Denise) Holdren of Greeley and Steve Holdren of Northglenn, 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 5 great, great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 2 spouses, son David and daughter Karen, 3 brothers; Floyd, Wayne and Howard and two sisters; Helen and Margie. Elsie’s Life Celebration will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 23, 2020 at Adamson with a reception following. Masks will be required, observing Covid regulations.
